Spoke 1Million Words to Me

A monk prays for an elderly man who had died suddenly while waiting for a train in Shanxi Taiyuan, China.

this is one of the pictures that spoke the most to me. it didn't make me cry but if you saw my facial expression you think i would. i feel like this is the way to die. how could someone just  pass waiting for a train. you're not expecting anything and you just die. not even with your family. and how is this possible. was he sick or anything. just dead. i couldn't believe my eyes when i read the caption. and this monk. he is a brave person. not a lot of people would go and touch a dead body. and though i don't think his prayers cant do anything at this point but it's nice to know that somebody cares. i stared at this picture for a while and i was wondering what is everybody doing there staring. maybe if they took action this old man could be saved. i don't want to start talking about injustice but i feel like this man should have had it better. i mean to die in public like that. all i can say is the worst way. can you imagine his family. that along with great sadness they would feel a mix of embarrassment. i just can't over the fact of what a way to die. but back to the monk. someone needs to go give him a hug because what he's doing is a pretty deep thing. imagine how cold the hand used to be as he felt it. this event could help people become better [people in the future and to be more humble like the monk. some comments from people were:

网易广东省佛山市南海区网友:
Now this is a true monk! Seeing the simply dressed monk holding the dead old man’s hand sincerely praying for him and then bowing deeply while the old man lies askew on the bench, his body already cold, my eyes couldn’t help but moisten. Already moved by the monk, I am again struck by life’s impermanence!
Think about one’s own loved ones, and spend more time with them!

Namo Amitabha. With today’s society, we can only depend on prayer. Everything else is useless.
沈阳杰奇 [网易辽宁省沈阳市网友]:
The day, the second, this old man was born, he too never thought he would one day leave this world in the waiting hall of a train station. Things are difficult to predict, and our lives are over in a moment. We will be no different.

to analyze this i decided to do a story from both points of view. (old man versus Monk)

OLD MAN:
it was awfully cold in Shanxi today. oh well that won't stop me I'm going to visit my granddaughter because i haven't seen her in a long time. and she's really sick. wow it's really chilly, I'm feeling weak...

MONK:
finally mass was over. i had to head home quickly. tomorrow I'm waking up early to go feed the homeless children. wow it's late. maybe I'll take the train. yes it's faster and more efficient. i just hope there's not to much commotion down by there I'm not in the mood for noise

OLD MAN:
i was sitting here and i felt terrible. i hope i wasn't getting sick before i saw my sick grandchild. i smiled at the thought. *cough hack cough* it was getting really bad. i felt my bones weakening and my heart slowing. and then.. i yawned. oh well a tired old man has to sleep. i laid my head down on my shoulder. i was slipping into unconsciousnesses  i bright light shone in my eyes and i felt very sleepy. but inside i knew i wouldn't be waking up.no one would know me and why i decided to "disappear". i would  show up in newspapers as "The old man’s identity and cause of death is unknown."  at 5 o'clock i closed my eyes for a long long time

MONK:

oh know there was many people at the station. but they all seemed anxious what was going on. as i moved in closer, people moved out of the way for me and when i broke through the crowd there was a sleeping old man... all alone. the train was coming soon so i decided to wake him up. i grabbed the mans pale hand and squeezed. it was cold. to cold even for a chilly day like this. i felt no pulse in his frail wrist. the man died on this bench. i immediately felt sick to my stomach. but not because i touched a dead man, but because he died in such a terrible way. may your soul find peace i whispered. and i held his hand and prayed for his Innocent soul to find it ways to peace.. despite the looks i was getting, i performed a ceremony for the old man. i began to tear up as i bowed down before. i am so sorry for you i told him. i got up and told a final prayer for him and walked away strongly believing i helped the man find where he needed to be

    DAUGHTER:
no one came to my granddad's funeral but me and my family  mostly because he was not very well known and i simply took him from the hospital and buried him in my small home's backyard. but there was one man off to the side of the fence. he was dressed simply and looked like a monk. for some reason i felt and instant connection and eternal gratefulness to this man. i walked over to where he stood and with no introduction i hugged him. he gave a small smile and we both turned to face the tombstone silent tears falling down our faces....

prediction: there is not much to predict. the monk will go on with his life silently remembering the day an old man departed in a miserable way. people will forever be moved when they here this story and possibly mimic the humbleness of the monk. (if a continuation of my story the granddaughter could feel so much love for the monk she want's to marry him as a way to repay him....) and if the old man had somehow survived he would of  also felt great love for the monk who took time out of his day to in a way help this poor old man...

huricablizadabama

well it's been a crazy couple of weeks what with the hurricane and blizzard and everyone still trying to juggle in the elections with it all. well the first thing that happened was the hurricane. also called THE SUPER STORM. well everyone didnt think it was gonnas be a big deal but apparently it was in some places.  but here was i the only one dissapointed there wasnt more rain. i mean the flood from irene was a pretty freaking awsome sight to see....right; RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well the wind was really hard. no power for 2 WEEKS. i had to suffice on playing cards by a lamp and only eating bread. but when the oppurtunity showed it self i went out to somewhere warm. but i didnt freeze to much at night from no heat. my uncle came from haiti and slept in my room so i was sleeping on the same bed as my sister and was kinda warm :)....:-___-. it was funny becaus the lights kept flickering on and off as my cousin was doing my hair and she kept yelling "not yet! not yet!" so she wouldnt finish in the dark. but in the end she did.  the school across from my house opened up as a shelter and basically my whole family and i would go at random moments to enjoy the heat and eat their free food. but we didnt get power for a while. to be honest i never knew how to use a match. till sandy. we have a gas stove sot Diglett Wednesday: Uprooted

.... and then it snowed. my dad tried to turn on the fire place but it was a fail and smoke filled the house. and to think it was warm for a breif period of time before the smoke came. and also the fire department. so i had a friend in colonia who had power and, my mom, my two sisters, and my brother my grandma and i, went to sleep at her house. not ten minutes into being there we got a call from the people back at our house saying we have power. everyone was so happy we actually danced. (wow we are techno crazy). my mom said "hey it's only nine who wants to go back home." but a coupke factors prevented that, it was snowing and noone wanted to go because we didnt know how long it would take for our heat and internet and t.v. would take to go back online. and also i wanted to stay with my friend and her HOT brother. so i slept in her room periodically staring out into the beatuful white horixon and reading a book. i was warm and in a calming environment. but we went home the next morning and the snow was already melting and littered with snow dirt so that calm didn't last long... oh well. then when i got home my uncle (who previouly was mad that he came from a powerless house to another powerless house) was already busy on his computer enjoying the power we got back. the monotone expression that he ussually wore had softened just a little bit that day..... just a little.

before the blizzard happened i belive the elections were already underway and being tallied. scince at the time we still had no power i was staying on the know of the presidenstial race wa smy other cousins trusty verizon iphone 5 internet service (yes it still worked w/o power). so my cousin had a dream that mitt romney won and the dream seemed so real. but he couldnt see the stats of his win. but when he woke up he double checked his phone and saw that obama had won for real. i was not suprised. i'm pretty sure everyone (even romney) knew obama would win. i mean most presidents get 2 termz any way so it was no suprise. but im not into poplotics so its not like i had a party for a black president being reelected. and that was my crazy adventure over the last couple o' weeks....

Adventerous heart

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

WOW first off let me say CHRIS IS DEEP. i almost feel he's got all  (or most) of it figured out. by these words you can already tell that i agree with the above words of McAndless. i tbhink that most of us live knowing that we can change our path but choose not to. and why... because how we're living is convienent. i think that everyone in there heart yearns to venture out further that the avaerage human. but we're to scared to do it. we're afraid to leave behind what we have. well dont be, it's going to be their. in my opinion i think there is a time were you have to go back to the pace of life, but always knowing what's coming next is boring. and haven't you ever hear the expression boredness killed the cat. we need to experience true joy. feel the rush of being free and not being tied down. i love the line " to have a new and different sun" basically to wake a new place each day (phisically or MENTALLY). live free and live far!!

for those of you who don't know about chris (and you all should) he was no hypocrite. he lived by these words. he was some kind of advernturerer.  for a while he sat ther eunhappy with his circumsatances but that did not last long. as soon as he was done with college,he became a tramp (hee hee) traveling around on whim. he almost literally woke up to a different sun every day. he did not have peace of mind with normality of life. so he went basically wherever his heart would take him. he lived for the unexpected. down to his last breath i'm pretty sure he had a scence of the joy of life. Chris is...was basically the best example of passionate, free, spirit.

 THIS IS CHRIS'S SPIRIT
i believe that i and ALOT more people are tied down to life. we wake up and have the same descisions, what to eat for breakfast or dont eat at all. should i finish my h.w. in class, or just confess i didnt do it. pizza, sub, or skip this s*it. then go home. do h.w. or go out with buddies. sleep or stay up late.  dont you think when you think baout if is just a dull process. but the part security i must disagree with. are we really secure. anything we do could be our last. i do not think thst there is enough precautions that you could take  to prevent death or injury. if chris was here now to talk to me he might tell me to take my creativity elsewhere. i really don't mean to try to brag buti have things to express and ways to do it but i sit here and do the same thing. chris would tell me trasvel the world and write your stories or draw those pictures. but to encourage me i would need MONEY. but not a day goes by that i (na di'm sure you) feels like living more freely.....

GOODBYE SOCIETY

so society has apparently gotten to my head so i'm running away. i always wanted to go to australia.  i guess the outback, and kangeroo's and all that just interest me.it would be like a chance to explore nature while still being in the realm of civlitation. so i guess i can get lost over there. i would start kind of like mcandless and destroy anything that can possibly lead people torwards me. i would contact from all thise i love and know. if there's anyone who'd be crazy enough to go with me they'd be more than welcome to come along.  with it i would board a plane to australia. from there on it'd follow my instincts and try to survive.

i'd probabbly be roamng australia for a couple years just so i could cover as much ground of the continent as i can. mostpeople might say..."'till my money runs out!" but chris didnt have money so i'd have to endure until i feel that i've seen it all.

my method of travel would obviously start with plane and i guess from there it'd be alot of walking and hitchiking. possibly boats if australia has bodies of water going through it.i know that i would have to have money... and a whole lot of it. i truly believe that's all i would need. but of curse i'd still bring things like a couple pairs of clothing/shoes, water (plenty), some kind of eletronic ;maybe an i-pad and possibly soap and stuff. scince alot of money wold e needed i guess i'd have to take mney from my parents. needless to say clean out my own bank account as well. i'd also have to rely on human genorosity if i dont have enough money for say a motel and a insignificant resteraunt to eat.

i guess the only thin i would try to prove is that i could survive on my own. but my trip would be more for clearing my mind and opening my eyes. of course i would keep a constant journal with me. i'd want to draw and write my experinces. but i'd also keep a chronile in picture as well, si i dont miss a beat, and that if i die on my journey, noone else will either.

Poems Fit for a Weirdo

Chris Mcandless was a really.... complex guy. some poems that i feel would fit him would be things along the lines of: adventure, unfairness, attachment, and homelessness.

Henceforth I ask not good fortune—I myself am good fortune;
Henceforth I whimper no more, postpone no more, need nothing.

Strong and content, I travel the open road.
—Walt Whitman
this reminds me a lot of Chris's attitude. he believed that he wouldn't really need much to go tramping. just as the poet says, "I ask not of good fortune....need nothing". McCandless went on without money or other basic necessities  he just wanted to "travel the open road."

THE INJUSTICES OF THE WORLD – Rodrigo Hellebuyck

 We’ve all at times,
Have felt that we’ve been wronged,
Victims of crimes,
And for justice we’ve longed.
Injustice is stale,
But a sad fact of life,
To see evil prevail,
When wickedness is rife.
And what of that man,
Forced living it rough,
Working out his plan,
For he’s had enough.
I can go on and on and on,
Of all the evils to be hurled,
Let’s not carry on,
The injustices of the world!

(this is a long poem, so i only took parts of it but u should read the rest it's worth it...  here's the link http://www.everypoet.net/poetry/blogs/rodso123/the_injustices_of_the_world_rodrigo_hellebuyck)

this poem is about injustice and unfairness. Chris was big on this. he could not get over how the world was so mean. i believe that's one of the reasons he went on his trip. he wanted a mental leave on the unfairness going on around him. this poem is kind of a wake up call of what's going on around us. i think mcandless would agree with this poem.

You MUST NOT get ATTACHED !!!!

Poem By: westtxgirl

You must pull away
You can not stay attached
It only brings you pain
It would not have lasted long anyways
It never does
You wake up one morning and they are gone
They say that is what God wanted
Sometimes You wonder if its true
Did he really want it to end
Were You to co-dependent on them
Break it! Break it! Break it!
You must not stay attached
You must learn to stand alone
Where feelings do not hurt
A place of no heart ache and pain
You must not get attached !!!

this poem reminds me of Chris and his almost inability to get attached. it's like he's avoiding some kind of pain because he knows he wont see them again. so in the end he walks way so he avoids developing anything close to mutual. this is about the same experience with the author who is afraid to be close to anyone.

"The Streets Have Called Out..."

BY RABBIT

The streets have called out to my soul
Burning, my heart is on fire
To stick to what i know
Not the books in school
But the back allies
And gang ways
I call the streets.

My mother, my father

The streets.
She, He,
Will swallow you whole and
Can birth you to a new life.

My mother

My father
The streets.

i know i may sound like i say it a lot but this poem really does feel like it was made for Chris. i feel as if the streets were calling him. and he was birthed to a new life. i life of tramping. and he is loving it.quitting his promising future in school, quitting his life from his parents, and becoming homeless. it's a big step to take.....

My wild adventure

so recently i found myself in sydney australia where i have been "surviving" for a couple of months.i got bored with the common city life once again though sydney is a beautiful place.  i think it's time to move again and find a place to retire my tramping for a while. i pull out my ipad and go on a search for australian islands."crap no internet here" i say more to myself then to trent my tramping buddy i met a while back. "why don't we go in a cofee shop and try for wi-fi. "wi-fi..." i say mocking his accent for the umpteenth time. i just love australian accents :). he rolls his eyes. in a couple of hours we packed our tent and supplies (despite livong in a city we still wanted a taste of the wildernesss...so we slept in a tent.) and were ready to head off to the hayman isleands
our plan was to live in a mountenous region there by the water. pratically nature at its best. "o.k. i'm on love with this location" trent says still looking at the pictures. just hereing him say the word love put butterflies in my stomach. ok i guess i was crushing on the 22 yr old advenyure addict dream boat. but at 19 my purpose in life before the big two-O was to find true peace in myself and let the anger of society slip out of me.

sydney and haymand were very far from eachother. it would be a long drive indeed. so we rented a car under a fake name, both of us well knowing we wouldn't be returning it soon and we drove off. it took weeks before we reached the port that could give us a boat lift to haymand. but the ride to queensland was a magical one. i got to learn about trent more. it was breathtaking to see all the ope dessert and kangarroos and kualas and armaddilllos and just all those animals that people back in wherever i was form would never get to see apart from cages.
it was also interesting to pick up hitchhikers and here there stories of how they got there and what there doing. one couple had a baby and they said they were intent on traveling as much as they could to give the baby a wonderful life experience. they touched me with their stories of the kind people who they met on their way and eho cared for them. iw anted to be one of those people so i gave them on some of our freeze dried food (yep astroanot style) and knit the child a blanket. i gave them my email and we took many pictures before they departed to continue their quest.and when we got really itchy feet we would  get out of the car camp out for a night and just hike. omg i felt so free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

finally in queensland we checked into a motel and just showered for what seemed for hours. (seperatley of coures *blush*) and we went to the port. "so how much for a boat" trent said. before the attendant could answer i pulled trent to the side. "hey dude i told u i got us a little motor boat, we'll get their on our own" trent  smiled his gourgeous smile and i dont know if my heart started beating because of him or because of the prospect of adventure that lay before us. so we took of on the motor boat and headed off to haymond. the fish we saw on our way were beautiful. but we were forced to eat them. i guess we didnt prepare for our little boat trip because we pratically starved out there. a week with minimal food just killed us. but our optimism was high and he finally reached haymond. while we were there we ate some food at it's popular esort. but thats not wear we intended to stay. we took a large food supply and hiked around the island until we found the wild part of it that we were looking for. living off the land near the beach wa s a wondeful experience. but after a year we were weak with exaustion and the oonly thing keeping us going was our love for eachother. yes me and trent finally hooked up. "our water supply is pratically gone and i think i'm getting kidney stones from bad purification" trent said exasperated. "yeah and my stomach is eating itself i moaned" i had lost 50lbs on the crazy rations we were doing. when we were both at our weakest trent and i climbed a low rock just as the sun was setting.we realized thatboth of us having found peace in eachother and nature alone were finally contene even on our death beds (or rock) "priscil?" "yeah trent" "will you.... marry me" tears filled my eyes but i simply nodded hand in hand we lay there watching the sunset and i we died together in that way........

Sea the World News

Hey fellow fish and fishies today is a special article in "Sea the World News" most people wouldthink thaqt this was just a simple death of a risky sport article. but i decided to delve deeper into the storyof Audrey and Pipin Ferraras a famous record breaking free-diving couple. do the research yourself and you will see that audrey died trying to set a world record for free diving. the battle out there is either in some way she was murdered (whichsome signs point to yes) or that she was killedby accident (again there are signs that say yes.) but the big picture that noone is looking at is the possibility of suicide. ( i already know i'll get some hater "this is biased" comments but try to consider it.)

on  her own audrey decided not to take the breathing tube. the article explains that she had a certain aura of calmness to her. it kind of makes it seem that she knew it was her time to go.the diver that was down there with her offered her his mouthpiece with the air but she declined it. apperently her mentality may have been that the dive would've been a failure if she took the air. and think about it people she had a lot riding on her so she may have seen dying as the best way to go. i guess this is opineated but i believe she LET HERSELF DIE. think about it......

Think Differently

This is my first post on my blog and what can i say, hey i'm here .... were supposed to write about that video we saw, Think Differently shown above. and well i guess i'm stating the obvious when i say it's inspirational...... ummm i love the different variety of people that they showed up there: Black, White, Indian or girl and boy. but am i the only one who wondered who was that little girl was in the end. here is basically the message of the video: "Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify and vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as crazy, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." powerful message isn't it.
