for a fact if Dr, KIng came into our school we would half to rally the troops into the audotorium and we would get a stern lecture. he would tell us that we are not making him proud at all. he would tell us that he thanks those who live their lives the way they should and have not been pulled into the racism of our world. btuwe have to ask ourselves peronally if Martin Luther KIng Jr. were to follow us around for a day would he pleased with us? are we the expectation of the life he wanted minorities to live. Think about it.Wednesday, January 23, 2013
Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.
Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.
As free as the mountain air, a mix of the colors of the rainbow, like on big happy family; a dream envisioned by Martin Luther King Jr. MLK said "we've got some difficult days ahead...... [but] tonight we as a people will get to the promised land." in this quote Dr. King is trying to say that even with challenges ahead, we will one day very soon have our rights. He wants all minorities to fulfill his purpose in life and be free from the struggle. If Martin Luther King were to come into our school right now to see how PHS has done in utilizing our rights, he would have very conflicting emotions!
first of alll Dr.King would somewhat be ecstatic at the progression society has made. now a days their are interracial couples and middle and wealthy class African-Americans. most white people do not have a problem with being in the same room as us. and being in PHS he would see that even though there are not many, there are indeed Caucasian people in the school. we have an equal opportunity at learning here and some of us: Hispanic, White, Black, and Asians in this very school are taking advantage of what we have been given, made mostlt by the efforts he put in when he was alive.
If Martin Luther King came into the school at this very moment a wave of disappointment would also wash over. he did not plan for his people to become an ignorant race. coming in here and seeing people with their pants sagging and cursing out loud is not what he had planned. in his day African-American's were seen as inferior but they were not an ignorant race. education and dress wise we were a good people. but if he were to come here 44 years later and to see that even though we are generally thought as free, yet we are still trapped in the racist standards of society; Martin Luther King would be very dismayed. our school is not showing any type of appreciation for those 12 hard long years he spent trying to give our people the rights we truly deserved.
for a fact if Dr, KIng came into our school we would half to rally the troops into the audotorium and we would get a stern lecture. he would tell us that we are not making him proud at all. he would tell us that he thanks those who live their lives the way they should and have not been pulled into the racism of our world. btuwe have to ask ourselves peronally if Martin Luther KIng Jr. were to follow us around for a day would he pleased with us? are we the expectation of the life he wanted minorities to live. Think about it.
